IU Health West Hospital Emergency Medicine

4.1 out of 5 stars (8,075 ratings)

When you are faced with a medical emergency, IU Health is here to provide experienced and effective treatment.

Our expert team of emergency medicine physicians includes specialists in a variety of fields. We have access to the most advanced diagnostic tools available and support from lab and imaging services.

Emergency Medicine at IU Health West Hospital is a full-service emergency department, staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week by board certified emergency medicine physicians, advance practice providers (including physician assistants and nurse practitioners) and nurses. We treat adults and children experiencing a medical emergency.

Our advanced computer systems make each encounter more efficient by improving communication between our team and other departments. Since yesterday's care can often affect today's treatment, we also offer fast access to patient medical records.

Through research and clinical trials, in partnership with the Indiana University School of Medicine, we improve outcomes for our most critically ill and injured patients.

IU Health LifeLine

In addition to providing direct ambulance access, IU Health West Hospital also houses a helipad so IU Health LifeLine helicopters can land just steps away if transport is necessary. Assuring your safe transportation to and from IU Health West Hospital or another IU Health hospital is important to us.

IU Health LifeLine transfers critically injured patients from remote areas or community hospitals to receive more in-depth treatment at one of our Level I Trauma Centers. The IU Health LifeLine team of experts are ready to go on a moment’s notice, and are able to treat all types of medical emergencies in the most advanced mobile intensive care units found in medical helicopters and ground ambulances.
