Dr. Anita Turk is a medical oncologist who provides cancer treatment. Dr. Turk became an oncologist doctor because she loves caring for people. Receiving a cancer diagnosis is one of the most vulnerable experiences a person can go through in their lifetime, and Dr. Turk’s passion is being there for her patients.

When patients meet Dr. Turk for the first time, she will not only discuss the cancer-directed therapy but will also sit down for an extensive discussion about what their diagnosis and treatment options mean. Dr. Turk makes sure to discuss each patient’s overall well-being with the patient and their family.

Research

Dr. Turk focuses her research in identifying and developing new therapy options for patients with cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer) and pancreatic cancer.

Education

Dr. Turk earned her medical degree at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis. She completed a residency at the University of Chicago and a fellowship at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics in Madison.

As a member of the IU School of Medicine faculty, Dr. Turk enjoys conducting research to help us better understand the science behind treatment options for cancer patients.
