About Carmen Frede, DNP, APRN, AGAC-BC, FCCS
Carmen Frede, DNP, APRN, AGAC-BC, FCCS has a passion for improving quality of life. As an Advanced Practice Provider, Carmen collaborates with patients to develop individualized treatment plans and provides both operative and non-operative care. Her experience includes assessing, diagnosing and treating complex neurological, neurosurgical and rehabilitation-related conditions while emphasizing patient education, disease prevention and positive health and lifestyle choices.

Education
Carmen received her Bachelor of Science degree with a major in anthropology from the University of Michigan. She attended Bellarmine University for her BSN and completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree at the University of Kentucky with a focus in Adult Geriatric Acute Care. She is certified as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner through ANCC.
Research, Advocacy and Professional Involvement
Carmen is an active member of the Brain Injury Association of America and its Indiana chapter. She has served as an advocate and member of multiple professional organizations and has participated in research and publication efforts related to concussion management, discharge education and patient care delivery. Her work includes publication of the Adult Concussion Motor Vehicle Discharge Educational Handout and research examining concussion management and discharge education training for emergency department nurses.
