Chaiyaporn Boonchalermvichian, MD, PhD

Dr. Chaiyaporn Boonchalermvichian, MD, PhD, is a hematologist/oncologist with specialized expertise in the treatment of blood cancers, including leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma. His clinical practice focuses on advanced therapies such as hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, CAR T-cell therapy, and chemotherapy.

Originally from Thailand, he earned his MD from Chulalongkorn University and went on to complete a PhD in Cancer Genetics at the University of Sydney, Australia. He subsequently trained in hematology and oncology at the University of Southern California and pursued advanced fellowship training in blood and bone marrow transplantation at Stanford University.

Dr. Boonchalermvichian combines extensive clinical experience with a strong research background, particularly in the development of novel therapies for leukemia using engineered immune cells to eradicate and control malignant cells. Passionate about delivering state-of-the-art treatment alongside comprehensive supportive care, he is dedicated to achieving optimal outcomes with minimal complications.

As an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine, he plays an active role in educating medical residents and hematology/oncology fellows, guiding them in the diagnosis and management of challenging blood cancers. He also collaborates with scientists to translate laboratory discoveries into clinical practice to advance cancer treatment, embodying the principle of “bench to bedside and back to the bench.”
