Biography
David W. Roe, MD, is Medical Director of the Advanced Lung Disease Program and Lung Transplant Program at IU Health Methodist Hospital. He received his MD degree from Southern Illinois University and completed his residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at Michigan State University. He completed a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at IU School of Medicine.
Dr. Roe says, "My mission as your physician is to deliver excellence in healthcare supported by a world-class healthcare organization in an empathetic and compassionate manner every time to achieve our goals of healing you both physically and emotionally." In his current leadership position, Dr. Roe is helping develop the vision and strategy for multiple IUH programs caring for advanced lung disease patients and assisting physician leaders and teams deliver excellent care in a coordinated and compassion manner. He is passionate about quality-of-care delivery and implementation of processes to improve the entire patient experience.
Dr. Roe currently serves on multiple IU Health committees and has served on numerous national scientific and patient-centric committees in professional organizations. He is a current board member of the American Lung Association and the American Red Cross in Indiana.
Dr. David Roe’s area of clinical practice is lung transplant and pulmonary/critical care medicine at IU Health Methodist Hospital. He is an associate clinical professor of medicine in the IU School of Medicine’s Division of Pulmonary Medicine.
