Biography
Dr. Lee is an assistant professor of radiation oncology at Indiana University School of Medicine-Bloomington, and medical director at the IU Health Bloomington and IU Health Bedford Cancer Radiation Centers. He is an American Board of Radiology (ABR) board-certified radiation oncologist, licensed in Indiana.
Dr. Lee received his medical degree from UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and completed his 4-year medical residency in Radiation Oncology at the University of Rochester - Strong Memorial Hospital, where he served as chief resident. He was among the final residents trained by the pioneering Dr. Philip Rubin. Dr. Lee has contributed several chapters to Dr. Rubin’s award-winning textbook, "Clinical Oncology: A Multi-Disciplinary Approach for Physicians & Students".
He was awarded the prestigious Howard H. Wong Fellowship, received by only five residents annually, and used it to to complete his head and neck fellowship at Mass General Hospital, Harvard University, under Dr. C. C. Wang, a leading authority in head and neck cancer.
Dr. Lee specializes in head and neck cancer, breast cancer including SAVI accelerated partial breast HDR brachytherapy, lung cancer including SBRT lung radiosurgery, and prostate cancer. He was instrumental in introducing IMRT technology for prostate cancer at IU Health Bloomington Hospital, being the first in Indiana. He also initiated the state's first cancer survivorship program. His passion and goal is to provide the best possible cancer care to the people of south central Indiana.
Outside of work, Dr. Lee enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, attending music festivals, and taking his kids to soccer and chess tournaments. Dr. Lee is also an avid fan of the Indianapolis Colts and the IU men’s and eomen’s basketball teams.
