Biography
Dr. Wu is an assistant professor of radiation oncology practice at Indiana University School of Medicine-Bloomington and serves as the Medical Director for the IU Health Bloomington and Bedford Cancer Radiation Centers. Board-certified by the American Board of Radiology, he is licensed to practice in Indiana and California. Additionally, Dr. Wu is a National Cancer Institute (NCI) Investigator involved in clinical research and trials.
Dr. Wu earned his medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and completed an internal medicine internship at Yale New Haven Hospital, where he was recognized as "Intern of the Year" and received the "Gold Star Award in Patient Care.” He also holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Pharmacology, Biochemistry & Molecular Biology from The Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions. His residency in Radiation Oncology was completed at the University of California at San Francisco (UCSF), where he also served as Chief Medical Resident.
Furthering his expertise, Dr. Wu undertook a post-doctoral fellowship at the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and a research fellowship at Vanderbilt-Ingram Comprehensive Cancer Center, focusing on breast cancer molecular research.
Dr. Wu has authored 30 research articles on Epstein-Barr virus and Kaposi Sarcoma virus-induced malignancies, and COVID pathogenesis. He's been published in esteemed journals such as Nature Medicine, Cancer Research, and Cancer Cell. He also contributed to the Handbook of Evidence-Based Radiation Oncology.
With clinical interests spanning head and neck, breast, thoracic, GI, GYN malignancies, and CNS malignancies, Dr. Wu is highly skilled in techniques including SRS brain radiosurgery, SBRT lung radiosurgery, IGRT/IMRT/Rapid Arc, Intra-Cavitary HDR Brachytherapy for Gyn malignancies, and SAVI Accelerated Partial Breast HDR Brachytherapy.
Dr. Wu’s passion and goal is to provide the best patient care possible in south central Indiana under this dynamically changing and challenging healthcare environment.
