Biography
Jennifer E. Schwartz, MD, is a hematologist oncologist who specializes in bone marrow transplant, CAR T cell therapy and the treatment of blood cancers such as leukemia, lymphoma, myelodysplastic syndromes and myeloproliferative disorders. She cares for patients through the IU Health Blood and Bone Marrow Transplant & Cellular Therapy Program in Indianapolis.
Dr. Schwartz serves as the Interim Director of the Bone Marrow Transplant and Cellular Therapy Program and as the Associate Dean of Continuing Education for Healthcare Professionals at the Indiana University School of Medicine. She is also a Fellow of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians Canada, reflecting her leadership and commitment to advancing cancer care. Her research centers on the development of cellular therapies for hematologic malignancies and graft-versus-host-disease (GvHD).
Dr. Schwartz is known for her thoughtful, clear communication and her commitment to making complex treatments easier for patients to understand. With more than two decades of experience, she believes every patient is unique and deserves individualized, research based care. She helps patients feel supported throughout stem cell transplant and cellular therapy—often some of the most overwhelming experiences in cancer treatment.

Education
Dr. Schwartz completed her medical degree at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, where she also completed her residency training in internal medicine. She went on to complete a fellowship in hematology oncology at the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute. Dr. Schwartz joined IU Health in 2003.
