Dr. Rita Assi specializes in hematologic malignancies with a focus on leukemia and lymphoma. She provides comprehensive care for patients with complex blood cancers, using advanced therapies and evidence-based treatment approaches.

Dr. Assi’s areas of expertise include:

  • Acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL)
  • Acute myelogenous leukemia (AML)
  • Acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL)
  • Chronic myelomonocytic leukemia (CMML)
  • T-cell leukemia
  • Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma

Dr. Assi earned her medical degree from the Lebanese University, Faculty of Medical Sciences in Beirut, Lebanon, where she also completed her training in internal medicine.

She pursued fellowship training in hematology - oncology and BMT at the American University of Beirut Medical Center. She then completed an advanced fellowship in leukemia at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX.

Dr. Assi is an associate professor of medicine at the Indiana University School of Medicine.
