Dr. Stephen Hartsock is a board-certified physician in family medicine and sports medicine who provides care for athletes and active individuals of all ages. He has extensive experience treating both acute injuries and chronic musculoskeletal conditions and helping patients return to activity safely.

Dr. Hartsock earned his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed his family medicine residency at the University of Chicago/MacNeal Hospital and a sports medicine fellowship at the University of North Carolina/Moses Cone Hospital. He is board certified in both family medicine and sports medicine.

Dr. Hartsock specializes in non-surgical orthopedic care, including:

  • Acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries
  • Concussion management
  • Joint pain and osteoarthritis
  • Sprains, strains and stress fractures
  • Tendon and overuse injuries
  • Joint and soft tissue injections

He also treats a wide range of conditions involving the shoulder, knee, hip, foot and ankle, as well as general medical concerns of athletes.

Dr. Hartsock has served as a team physician for professional, collegiate and high school teams. In Indianapolis, he currently works with Indiana University-Indianapolis, Indy Ignite volleyball, Indy Eleven soccer and Covenant Christian High School.

He is also actively involved in swimming medicine, serving as a team physician for USA Swimming and working with the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee. He has supported major national and international competitions, including Olympic Trials and World Championship events.
