Biography
Dr. Tarek A. Sibai, MD completed his medical school with honors at the American University of Beirut, in Lebanon. He then transitioned to postgraduate molecular biology research training at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) in Houston, where his research examined cartilage and bone development.
His Orthopedic Residency was a rigorous one focused on both clinical research and trauma at Boston University (BU). During residency, he dedicated an additional year for research, and was honored as the chief resident for his graduating class. He then completed a prestigious fellowship in hand and upper extremity at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, ranked one of the best orthopedic institutions in the nation.
Dr. Sibai acquired additional elective time after his fellowship focusing on elbow pathology with world experts in the field at Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) in New York and Roth McFarlane Hand and Upper Limb Center at the University of Western Ontario, Canada.
Dr. Sibai has published extensively in original journal articles and presented nationally in number of conferences throughout his career. Dr. Sibai holds a Volunteer Clinical Assistant Professor position with the Indiana University School of Medicine-Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS) and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH).

Dr. Sibai is honored to be part of the Bloomington community and is dedicated to offering his patients the highest standards in orthopedic care with a focus on evidence based medical practices. During his free time, he enjoys outdoor activities such as soccer and loves to spend time with his wife, Jennifer (Pediatrician) and 2 young daughters.
Dr. Sibai is proficient in French and fluent in English, Arabic languages.
