Indiana University Health Foundation leverages the power of philanthropy to support the IU Health goal of making Indiana one of the healthiest states in the nation.
People, Progress, Partnerships
We improve the health of individuals, communities and our state by focusing on people, progress and partnerships:
- People: To recruit and retain top medical and leadership talent who provide the highest level of comprehensive care; and to create places where they learn, develop and thrive.
- Progress: To address Indiana’s current needs—and tomorrow's; to unlock cures and discoveries, provide access to care statewide, and innovate in all aspects of health.
- Partnerships: To collaborate with partners and key stakeholders statewide to tackle Indiana’s biggest public health concerns—including smoking cessation, obesity, infant mortality and behavioral health—in our cities and our rural areas.
The Foundation was formed in 2017 by integrating individual foundations within IU Health into a bigger, stronger Foundation that attracts the transformative gifts IU Health needs to improve Hoosiers’ health. The Foundation honors the intentions of past donors and historic philanthropic relationships, while taking advantage of synergies and efficiencies created through integrated work. We also ensure that local stays local; your gift goes where you want it to go.
Watch: Foundation for Change
In 2019, Indiana’s health ranking fell from 38 to 41, driven by factors including high smoking rates, children living in poverty and increases in the rates of cancer and mental distress. IU Health has a unique opportunity and responsibility to tackle these problems—and with your help, we will continue to do so.
