COVID-19 Rapid Response Fund

Covid19 rapid responsefund

This is a critical time for caregivers, patients and our community. Help the IU Health team by supporting the COVID-19 Rapid Response Fund.

Gifts directed to this fund will be put to immediate use in combating COVID-19 in Indiana by supporting the highest priority needs for IU Health to fight this fast-moving, global spread of the novel coronavirus.

Support the COVID-19 Rapid Response Fund

IU Health Foundation is thankful to those individuals and community members who are coming forward to offer charitable gifts to support those on the front lines during this COVID-19 crisis.

To help fight this pandemic, we have activated the COVID-19 Rapid Response Fund and will direct gifts to the highest priority needs across IU Health to fight this fast-moving, global spread of the novel coronavirus.

Thank you for being a champion for our clinician and patient community. Donate now to help us improve care for all.

As the state’s largest and most comprehensive healthcare system, IU Health takes seriously our responsibility to be prepared for health emergencies. The COVID-19 Rapid Response Fund was created to support IU Health efforts to combat this novel coronavirus pandemic.

Contributions to this fund will immediately impact IU Health’s most pressing needs to fight COVID-19. As one of the only Indiana health systems that has developed our own internal testing, your gift provides additional resources during a pivotal time for our community.

Your contribution will also:

  1. Help to increase availability of much-needed supplies
  2. Enable us to hire and cross-train additional clinical staff, and
  3. Help us manage infection control and optimize emergency preparedness now and in the future.

Together, we can ensure that our patients and communities receive the best possible care during this changing public health situation.

IU Health is working internally and externally to address the COVID-19 pandemic:

  • Through a virtual care clinic launched by IU Health, people in Indiana can access free coronavirus screenings no matter where they live.  In three weeks, we screened more than 20,000 Hoosiers, providing most with reassurance, but also telling almost 1,000 that they should self-isolate, and referring more than 75 for additional medical care.
  • Dozens of current team members have been cross-trained and re-deployed to serve in the most pressing areas and hundreds of new team members have been recruited and oriented to meet the needs of our patients and community
  • Some IU Health hospitals have converted cafeteria space into “grocery stores” so front-line caregivers can get the food they need before leaving work, reducing the risk of additional exposure while at an external grocery store. This is critical to ensure all possible health care workers stay well as the demand for care increases.

We are guided by four overarching principles as we address COVID-19:

  1. Mitigate the spread of the virus
  2. Ensure the safety of our team members
  3. Be good stewards of scarce resources
  4. Be a trusted source of information about COVID-19

As IU Health caregivers focus on providing our patients with the best possible care during this pandemic, we are working to do all we can to support them and provide for their needs.

We are grateful for your support!
