Clinicians thank beloved surgeon who's eying retirement

Dr. Daniel Beckman specializes in cardiothoracic surgery at Methodist Hospital. He started his IU Health career in 1980 and now, after more than four decades, the beloved physician has his sights on retiring in the next year. "He's cut from a special cloth," said Mindy Little, a nurse who works with Dr. Beckman on Methodist Hospital's cardiovascular critical care unit. "He takes the time to notice the little things in us and his patients and I do think that's a special quality that not everyone has."
