From head to toe: how IU Health Urgent Care supports whole health
World Health Day, a day to raise global awareness about critical health issues and promote healthcare access for all, is observed annually on April 7. Year-round, our IU Health Urgent Cares embody the essence of World Health Day by offering patients a wide range of support for their immediate health needs each time they visit one of our 11 locations across the state.
Here’s a look at how we support our patients’ whole health:
- The respiratory system: Bring your unknown illness symptoms, like a cough, stuffy or runny nose, sore throat, flu-like symptoms, fevers under 104 degrees or achy body, to Urgent Care. Our providers will listen to your concerns and run any tests needed to help you feel better faster. We also offer insight on sinus infections, allergies and asthma.
- The stomach: If you’re experiencing minor stomach pain, are throwing up, have loose stools or suspect you have a bladder infection, Urgent Care staff can help identify your symptoms and offer support to feel better.
- The head: We can address pain due to infection in and around the ears and eyes and evaluate headaches, dizziness and/or vertigo symptoms.
- Bones, ligaments and muscles: We can mend minor bone breaks, support sprains and determine the source of back pain. We also offer X-Ray medical imaging at all 11 of our locations.
- Skin: Our highly-skilled Urgent Care teams can determine the cause and treatments for rashes and other minor skin problems including insect stings and bites, superficial (first degree) and partial thickness (second degree) and minor cuts.
- Preventative care: Come to Urgent Care for the latest flu, COVID and tuberculosis vaccinations.
- General wellness: If you or someone you love needs a physical exam to attend or participate in school, camp, work or sports, we can evaluate. For employees and employers, we also offer work-type injury or exams and support with workers' comp.
“We’re honored to be so many Hoosiers’ first choice for their immediate care needs and are proud to be accessible to communities across the state with our 11 locations,” says Robby Lynch, physician assistant team lead at IU Health’s Greenwood urgent care. “We pride ourselves on providing care excellence to meet everyone’s needs.”
