Inside the OR: Intraoperative neuromonitoring (IONM)

Matthew Farmer is an intraoperative neuromonitoring (IONM) technologist at Methodist Hospital. It's his job to monitor a patient's brain, spine, and nerves during surgeries where those systems are at-risk. "The reasons surgeons want us in the operating room is because they are working around very delicate structures and we can give them immediate feedback if or when there are changes to the patient's baseline."
