IU Health Fishers welcomes its first babies born in the new medical tower, marking the start of expanded maternity services for the community.
With the opening of the new medical tower at IU Health Fishers, the team is now delivering babies at the hospital. In fact, on the first day the new tower opened to patients, the Maternity team delivered two healthy baby girls.

The first baby was delivered through a scheduled c-section. Teh’nea Magee and Roudson Germeus welcomed their daughter Analisa at 11:04 am on Thursday, Oct. 30. Analisa came into the world weighing seven pounds, one ounce and measuring 20 ½ inches tall. She was delivered by Dr. Roziya Tursunova, an OB/GYN at the hospital.

“The team made us feel so welcome,” Magee said. “They were clapping for us when we went back and clapping for us when we came back out.”
This is the couple’s second child. Their oldest daughter, Elizabeth, is excited to be a big sister.
What stood out to Magee was the compassion and attentiveness of the team.
“We really appreciate IU Health and all they’ve done for us,” she says. “We genuinely feel cared for.”
The second baby born in the new tower is Margaret Hutson, daughter of Jacob and Erin Hutson. Margaret was born at 2:26 pm on Thursday, Oct. 30, weighing seven pounds, 13 ounces and measuring 20 inches long. She was delivered by Dr. Micah Mathai, an OB/GYN at IU Health Fishers.

Erin decided to schedule her induction on the first day the new medical tower was open.
“Everything was phenomenal,” she says. “The physical delivery took ten minutes, the team is incredible and even the food from the cafeteria is amazing.”
Margaret is the couple’s fourth child, and they were very happy with the experience.
“The entire team was amazing. The nurses were phenomenal. I’ve remembered every one of their names because they’ve been so nice and helpful,” Erin says.
As the first two babies born in the new medical tower, both Analisa and Margaret received gift baskets from the team, including items such as an IU Health onesie, a blanket, a children’s book, and more.
The opening of the tower marks completion of IU Health’s Fishers Community Impact Project, which nearly doubles the size of the IU Health Fishers campus and workforce. Along with a new Labor and Delivery unit, the tower also houses Mammography, Breast Surgery, Endocrine Surgical Services, an outpatient OB-GYN suite, Special Care Nursery, Medical-Surgical Inpatient unit and more.
