IU Health Nashville celebrates first anniversary in new building
IU Health Bloomington Hospital
The Nashville team’s move into the Sue Borgelt Medical Office Building marked IU Health’s continued dedication to providing highly-skilled care close to home for Brown County residents.
“It’s been great. It’s a really great building and excellent resource for our community,” says Nashville Family Medicine physician Marin Garcia, MD. “I think this facility makes the Brown County and Nashville community feel like they have a medical home that's not going anywhere.”

Made possible through generous donations from the Borgelt family and the IU Health Foundation, the building itself is a state-of-the-art facility designed for this community and showcases artwork (including the piece to the right), which is fitting since Nashville is known for its art colony.
“Patients love the new office. I have heard many compliments on the beautiful new space,” says office manager Lori Owings.
She shares that the team’s favorite parts of the new facility include the brightness from the many windows, bigger rooms and new technology. The breakroom overlooking a field of cows is also a highlight.
Garcia shares that having Cardiology, Urology and Orthopedic specialists see patients here helps improve access for individuals who would otherwise need to travel to Bloomington, Columbus or another larger town for the care they need.
Owings says, “We love that our specialty services have grown so we can treat people where they are, in their neck of the woods.”
