IU Health North offers midwifery care

IU Health North is expanding Women’s Health services with a new midwifery program, giving expectant mothers access to certified nurse midwives who partner with patients throughout pregnancy, birth and postpartum care. Midwives provide individualized, relationship-based care, from adolescence through menopause, while helping women take an active role in decisions about their health and birth experience. Services include prenatal care, routine women's health care, family planning and labor and delivery support.

Midwives work closely with obstetricians and other specialists to ensure each patient receives the right level of care for their needs. From education and encouragement to personalized birth planning and postpartum support, the program is designed to help women feel informed, empowered and supported every step of the way.
