K9 Callie provides care for IU Health's care teams

K9 Callie is the newest, furriest member of IU Health's therapy pet program. The two-year-old Labrador Retriever will serve members of the IU Health care teams, specifically at IU Health North on the night shift.

Callie will come to work with her handler, Officer Levi Hill. Carrie Wing, regional vice president & chief nursing officer, led efforts to welcome Callie to the team in hopes she will provide necessary support to those working at the hospital.

"I love being here," Wing said. "I want this to be a place where people want to come, and I want it to be unique. So, I think bringing a program like this to this facility does create a uniqueness among our team, brings us together, unites us, and creates a family."
