Med student collapses during rounds, reunites with those who helped

For months Katherine Modrall thought her frequent headaches and balance issues were simply due to the stress of medical school. But while rounding one day at Riley Hospital for Children, her symptoms took a turn for the worse. "I was checking on a patient and I was unable to say the word insulin, and I'm like, I've dealt with diabetes patients for the past month. That's such a basic word and I couldn't get it out. And then I wasn't able to stand up when we were going to see another patient and that's when one of the doctors I was with took me down to the ER."
