Nurse spotlight: Steven Zaborowski

Steven Zaborowski is the shift coordinator for the adult ECMO program at Methodist Hospital. ECMO is a form of life support similar to a bypass machine in the operating room. It does not heal or treat the heart or lungs, but rather, it allows those organs to rest while other treatments are ongoing. "We have a group of specially-trained nurses and respiratory therapists who, with a surgeons help, get people on the machine and manage those patients day-to-day."
