Physical Therapy- a valuable resource in the state's busiest emergency room

Michelle Lazorchak is a physical therapist who cares for patients in Methodist Hospital's emergency department. "Whenever initial assessment is performed by one of the providers... they see what's going on and if they feel it's appropriate for physical therapy (PT) they'll consult with us," said Michelle. "I think the cultural view of physical therapy is much smaller than the actual scope of practice that physical therapists have. We're more than just ankle sprains and stretching."
