Social worker making positive impact on wound care patients
IU Health Methodist Hospital
Debbie Evans is a licensed clinical social worker who spends her days caring for patients at Methodist Hospital's comprehensive wound center. "For patients who have social barriers that keep them from coming to the wound clinic, if we can try to address those on the first visit they're far more likely to come to their second visit," said Debbie, who helps to address a number of potential challenges including transportation, food insecurity and substance use disorders. "I love what I do. I love working in the wound center. It's been such a joy."
