Trauma patients use art therapy to process and heal

Ella Beardsley is an intern who, for the past several months, has been helping Methodist Hospital's trauma team develop an art therapy program for patients. "One of the biggest benefits of art therapy for trauma patients is providing a sense of control in such an uncontrollable situation," said Ella. "In a lot of ways these patients' autonomy has been changed... but the thing about art therapy is you can control completely what you put onto that artwork."
