Getting you off the sidelines and back into action

Whether you are a professional athlete or a weekend warrior, when you play hard, you sometimes get injured. When that happens you need a Sports Medicine professional to help get you back in the game.

The IU Health Sports Medicine team provides treatment for sports-related injuries as well as a focus on preventing common sports injuries.

Just as you have a team on the field, you also have a Sports Medicine team at IU Health to help you avoid injury or to treat any injuries should they occur. You don’t want to be sidelined for long, and we understand that. From your first appointment through treatment, rehabilitation and follow-up, you will receive high quality, compassionate care. We will work with you to set goals and outline a treatment plan to get you back to an active lifestyle quickly and safely.

We offer a full spectrum of sports performance training and primary sports medicine care including prevention, diagnosis and treatment of non-operative sports-related injuries for athletes of all ages. When further intervention is necessary, orthopedic surgery, rehabilitation and physical therapy are available.

Concussions

If you or a family member has experienced or suspects a concussion, IU Health Sports Medicine has certified physicians to provide concussion assessment and treatment. State law now requires that any student athlete suspected of having a concussion be removed from the game or practice and “evaluated by a licensed healthcare provider trained in the evaluation and management of concussions and head injuries.”

Our ImPACT certified physicians conveniently located throughout the state can validate the injury using the ImPACT Test to help manage your or your child’s concussion more efficiently.
