Biography
Dr. Jason M. Voorhies, MD joined IU Health from practices in Toledo, Ohio, and Fort Wayne, Indiana. He selected neurosurgery due to his passion for the nervous system and improving people's lives. His philosophy is to find the least-invasive way to treat patients and improve quality of life.
Dr. Voorhies specializes in the treatment of spine conditions, spinal fusions, back and neck pain, craniotomies, and brain tumors, among other areas. Using a less-invasive technique for surgical treatment, Dr. Voorhies focuses on treating patients with quality care and helps to navigate healthcare decisions from diagnosis through follow-up.
Receiving his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine, Dr. Voorhies graduated in the Top 10 of his class and was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed his residency in neurosurgery, as well as an internship in general surgery, at IU School of Medicine. Dr. Voorhies is certified in neurosurgery by The American Board of Neurological Surgery. He is also a member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society.
When not practicing medicine, Dr. Voorhies enjoys hiking, fishing, traveling and spending time with his wife, Rachel, and three children.
