Biography
John Doss, PA-C, is an advanced practice provider specializing in general pediatric orthopedics. As a certified Physician Assistant within Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, he treats conditions including:
- Fractures
- Sports medicine
- Gait abnormality
- Scoliosis
- Limb pain
- Developmental dysplasia of the hip
Doss attended Valparaiso University for his Bachelor of Science in Health Science degree and his Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies, earning Highest Distinction through his master’s program. Doss received his board certification in 2020 through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. He also participates in Physician Assistant student preceptorship/mentoring.
Born and raised in the Indianapolis area, Doss himself was a patient at Riley Children’s Health and developed a passion for medicine and taking care of children. His interest in orthopedics stems from being involved with sports his entire life, including playing Division I soccer in college. He enjoys the variety of patients he gets to help through pediatric orthopedics, whether that be treating a sudden fracture or a patient with a congenital abnormality.
When patients see Doss for the first time, they can expect compassion and care. He believes that every patient is unique and has their own story. Focusing on team-based care that involves both the patient and family, he takes the time to get to know each of his patients to develop a plan to best meet that child’s needs.
When not treating patients, Doss enjoys traveling, the outdoors, live music, spending time with friends and family, exercising and trying new foods.
