Khushali S. Jhaveri, MD

Dr. Khushali Jhaveri is a hematologist-oncologist and assistant professor of medicine at Indiana University who cares for adults with lymphoma and other blood-related cancers. She is known for her thoughtful, compassionate approach and for helping patients clearly understand their diagnosis and treatment options. Dr. Jhaveri works closely with each patient to create a care plan that reflects their goals, values and overall health.

Dr. Jhaveri chose hematology and oncology because she values long-term patient relationships and the opportunity to support individuals through some of the most challenging moments of their lives. She believes that listening carefully, communicating openly and addressing the whole person—not just the cancer—are essential to delivering high-quality care.

Research and Academic Work

Dr. Jhaveri is actively involved in clinical research aimed at improving outcomes for patients with lymphoma. Her research interests include CAR-T cell therapy, the impact of muscle loss (sarcopenia) on cancer treatment and outcomes in aggressive lymphomas. She has co-authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, and her work has been presented at national and international meetings, including the American Society of Hematology and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.

Education and Training

Dr. Jhaveri completed her Hematology and Oncology Fellowship at Moffitt Cancer Center, where she also served as chief fellow for communication and wellness and represented trainees on the Graduate Medical Education Committee.

Outside of Work

Outside of patient care and research, Dr. Jhaveri has a strong interest in medical journalism and public health education. She has written about topics such as fertility preservation for cancer patients and the health effects of climate change for national media outlets.
