Biography

Dr. Saki Miwa, MD, is a board-certified cardiologist who specializes in heart and vascular care.

Dr. Miwa is passionate about the primary prevention aspects of cardiology and emphasizes the importance of what can be done on the individual level to prevent cardiovascular disease, including risk factor management.

Education

Dr. Miwa received her Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Pomona College before moving on to Yale University School of Public Health. There, she received her master’s in public health with a concentration in chronic disease epidemiology.

After receiving her master’s degree, Dr. Miwa obtained her Doctor of Medicine from University College Cork Graduate Entry Medicine, Cork, Ireland. She did her Internal Medicine Residency at Baystate Medical Center and her Cardiology Fellowship at SUNY Downstate Medical Center.

Outside of Work

When not caring for patients, Dr. Miwa spends time with her husband, dog and cat. She tries to wind down by exploring the non-medicine side of the world, traveling and enjoying nature.
