Biography
Dr. Varun Mittal, MD, is a specialist in blood and marrow transplant and cellular therapy. He provides advanced care for patients with hematologic malignancies, including lymphoma, acute and chronic leukemia, myelodysplastic syndromes and myeloproliferative disorders. Dr. Mittal’s expertise includes autologous and allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and innovative cellular therapies such as CAR-T.
His care philosophy is collaborative and patient-centered, ensuring individualized treatment plans for complex conditions. Dr. Mittal is actively involved in clinical trials focused on novel approaches for allogeneic stem cell transplantation and CAR-T therapies for relapsed/refractory lymphoma.
He completed his medical degree at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, University of Rajasthan, followed by residency in internal medicine at New York Medical College and fellowships in hematology at Einstein Medical Center and Blood and Marrow Transplant at the University of California, San Francisco. He is board-certified in internal medicine and hematology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Mittal is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine.
