Every day across IU Health, important clinical research is happening—research that leads to better treatments, improved patient outcomes and advances in care delivery. Behind much of that work is Enterprise Clinical Research Operations (ECRO), a highly skilled team dedicated to supporting the full lifecycle of clinical trials.

From device studies to pharmaceutical research, ECRO manages both the administrative and clinical components that make complex trials possible and easier for both patients and investigators to participate. Their experts partner closely with investigators, clinical teams and industry sponsors to ensure studies are conducted safely, efficiently and in full compliance with regulatory standards.

ECRO brings together specialists with deep experience across the research continuum, including:

  • Association of Clinical Research Professionals CCRC certified Registered Nurses (available 24/7): Supporting inpatient and outpatient trials with hands on clinical expertise
  • Finance analysts: Leading budget development, feasibility assessments and contract negotiations to ensure studies are properly resourced
  • Research coordinators: Handling regulatory submissions, compliance documentation, startup requirements and day-to-day study activities
