Indiana Center for Biomedical Innovation

Enterprise Clinical Research Operations at IU Health Methodist Hospital manages the facilities and logistics of the Indiana Center for Biomedical Innovation (ICBI).

The Indiana Center for Biomedical Innovation serves the Indiana life science’s ecosystem by incubating high potential bioscience companies and entrepreneurial researchers as they move their discoveries from bench to bedside. The ICBI supports entrepreneurs with fully equipped laboratory facilities coupled with robust entrepreneurial services and access to expertise that de-risks startup hurdles and accelerates the innovation process in highly capital-intensive, heavily regulated industries.

The ICBI also provides a seamless move from bench to clinical trials for ICBI member companies, researchers, and entrepreneurs. The IU Health Enterprise Clinical Research Operations (ECRO) certified staff, expertise, and administrative functions can be leveraged to ensure proper and effective clinical trial execution when that stage is reached.

The ICBI, located on the 5th floor of the Noyes Pavilion at IU Health Methodist Hospital, includes 8 laboratories with additional common research space that holds a walk-in cold room, a tissue culture room, a microscope room, a room for flow cytometry and 2 conference rooms.

Specialized equipment, microscopes and centrifuges are provided for the companies as well as separate dedicated office space that is located on the same floor as the laboratories.
