Ball nurse survives motorcycle crash, adjusting to life as amputee
IU Health Methodist Hospital
Christian Arvin woke up in Methodist Hospital's ICU feeling grateful to have survived a near-fatal motorcycle crash. But he also realized he wasn't whole, having lost most of his right leg in the accident. "When I saw the shortness of my leg it was just a flood of emotions. How am I going to support my family? Am I going to be on disability the rest of my life? Am I going to be a burden to my family? It was all very depressing at first, but then I thought you know what... I need to act like a survivor."
