At a June 25 event in Lafayette, IU Health Foundation announced “All the Difference: The Campaign for Indiana’s Health” in west central Indiana. Part of a statewide fundraising effort, the campaign supports a multi-pronged approach to make Indiana one of the healthiest states in the country.

“IU Health is committed to making Indiana healthier, but we can’t do it alone,” said Gary Henriott, chairman emeritus of Henriott Group, chair of IU Health Foundation’s board and the IU Health west central region board, and a member of the philanthropy council. “Achieving this vision will require all of us who care about west central Indiana to come together.”

Henriott and his wife Shelly Henriott, members of the All the Difference campaign cabinet, hosted the event. The campaign, which runs through 2027, will fund IU Health hospital-based initiatives to help Hoosiers avoid and treat illness and injury, as well as programs outside hospital walls that address social factors that contribute to poor health.

In west central Indiana, All the Difference will raise funds to address the region’s most pressing healthcare needs, as identified by IU Health and community leaders:

  • Cardiovascular care
  • Workforce development
  • Cancer care
  • Orthopedics
  • Neuroscience
  • Infant and maternal health

Crystal Miller, president of IU Health Foundation and chief philanthropy officer for IU Health, stressed the importance of financial commitments from individual and institutional donors to address these challenges. “Philanthropy empowers IU Health to think innovatively, to stretch further, to accelerate implementation, to take the risks that lead to breakthroughs. Philanthropy ensures that no Hoosiers need to look outside their home state to access the very best care,” she said.
