Dr. Elvira S. Payne, MD, is a pediatrician with Riley Children’s Health and has been practicing since 2021.
Dr. Payne was drawn to medicine by a deep curiosity about the human body and a desire to understand how it works. She finds fulfillment in the challenge of coordinating emergency and in-home care, ensuring that each patient receives the support they need. Her decision to pursue pediatrics was rooted in a passion for making a lasting impact on children’s health—knowing that helping a child thrive can shape the course of their entire life.
When families visit Dr. Payne, they can expect a thoughtful and personalized experience. She takes time to connect with each child first, helping them feel comfortable before assessing their care needs. She values the opportunity to build long-term relationships and enjoys watching her patients’ personalities grow and evolve over the years.
Outside of work, Dr. Payne enjoys spending time with her husband, child and their dog. Together, they love exploring downtown restaurants and shops, visiting farmers' markets and participating in outdoor activities.
