Biography

Dr. Amer Alboush applies his clinical expertise to the diagnosis, treatment and compassionate care for pediatrics and adults. He has practiced primary care medicine since 2022 in Waterloo, Iowa and is excited to now practice with IU Health Primary Care. 

Dr. Alboush’s interest in medicine began with a strong desire to serve rural communities and provide comprehensive care across all ages. His passion grew further through his training in geriatrics and cognitive disorders, where he developed a special focus on dementia care, urgent medical conditions and improving quality of life for his patients. 

Outside of medicine, Dr. Alboush enjoys spending time with his family and his two children. He is passionate about hiking, fishing and traveling.

He has been board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine since 2025. He received his medical degree from Umm Al-Qura University in Mecca, Saudi Arabia in 2016. He then completed a family medicine residency at MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center in Waterloo, Iowa, affiliated with the University of Iowa in 2024. He also completed a geriatric fellowship with Indiana University Health in 2026.
