Quality scorecards are used to measure physicians on unique key performance indicators determined when a physician first joins IU Health Physicians. Providing physicians with data on their practice raises the standard of care. Internally, scorecards can be compared between doctors within a particular specialty. Will participation in IU Health Physicians require me to change the way I practice medicine?
If you adhere to the highest clinical standards and patient satisfaction, very little will change in the way you practice medicine. You should even be able to concentrate more on your patients as some of the infrastructure and administrative items will be handled by the IU Health Physicians group.
That said, there are many quality and care management initiatives included in our clinical integration program led by IU Health Quality Partners. Participation in this program will allow you eligibility to obtain financial rewards for your achievements.
The amount of any incentive payments will depend on both your personal quality score and the overall quality score of the organization. This latter component highlights the importance of physicians working together in an interdependent manner to improve patient care.
