Biography

Arpan V. Prabhu, MD, joined IU Health Physicians as a Radiation Oncologist in September 2023. As part of his educational mission, he serves as an Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology at Indiana University School of Medicine. On the clinical front, he is the Medical Director of Radiation Oncology at IU Health West Hospital.
Dr. Prabhu’s clinical practice includes:

  • Genitourinary cancers (prostate cancer, bladder cancer)
  • Thoracic cancers (non-small cell lung cancer, small cell lung cancer)
  • Metastatic cancers

His research activities focus on health literacy, patient education and social media in medicine. He has published over 70 peer-reviewed articles in prominent journals including the JAMA consortium and the International Journal of Radiation Oncology, Biology, Physics and has presented over 80 oral and poster presentations at regional and national conferences.
Dr. Prabhu maintains as active role in organized radiation oncology advocating for his patients as a member of the American College of Radiation Oncology (ACRO), American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO), and Council of Affiliated Regional Radiation Oncology Societies (CARROS) in the American College of Radiology (ACR).

Outside of work Dr. Prabhu enjoys stand up and improv comedy, playing basketball, hiking and spending time with his family and friends. He is a native of West Virginia.
