IU Health Bloomington Hospital Community Health offers a wide variety of programs and services to the community.

From our work with the local school systems, to programs that help those living with HIV/AIDS and Alzheimer’s disease, our goal is to help our community live healthier.

Our Programs

Car Seat Fitting

Three out of four car seats are misused in Indiana. Many parents are unsure about car seat requirements, state laws and installation.

Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians will answer your questions, help with installation, and give recommendations to make your child safer.

Safe Sitter Classes

Safe Sitter classes are offered for young teens in grades 6-8 who are ready to learn the skills they need to safely stay home alone, watch siblings or babysit for younger children. Young teens also learn life and business skills, so they know how to be prepared, responsible and considerate. Register at iuhealth.org/classes-events or call 812.353.5437 or cwickens@iuhealth.org for information.

Stop the Bleed

Stop the Bleed training teaches bystanders how to stop serious bleeding that can occur from everyday injuries. This knowledge is not taught in your normal basic training for first responders. Call IU Health Trauma Services at 812.353.9654 to set up a free training for your workplace, club or organization.
