The 44-bed hospital includes six operating rooms, a full emergency department, a helipad for medical transport and a medical office complex. Our healthcare team includes physicians from IU Health Physicians, as well as some of the area’s most highly regarded independent practitioners.

Parking at IU Health Saxony Hospital is free, with parking lots and entrances conveniently located to help patients and visitors get to their destinations quickly.

The IU Health Saxony guest relations team members at the Information Desk are happy to help you and answer any questions. They also have wheelchairs if you need to use one.

Our healthcare team understands that having family and friends around is important to the healing process. Your family is welcome anytime, but we do ask guests to follow the following guidelines:

When Can Guests Visit?

Regular visiting hours are 8 am to 9 pm daily. When visiting hours end, an overhead announcement will signal that all visitors should leave for the day and return the next day, if desired.

Patients may designate up to two people to serve as their “Primary Support.” These visitors may arrange with the care team for after-hours visitation as necessary and appropriate. Primary Support visitors must obtain a sticker badge from unit staff and wear it for after-hours identification in the hospital.

Can Children Visit?

Children under 18 may visit during regular visiting hours when accompanied by an adult, unless seasonal or special restrictions are in place. Children under 18 must be supervised by an adult and cannot be left unattended.

If Someone is Sick, Can They Visit?

For your protection, people should not visit if they are sick, especially if they have a sore throat, cold or fever.

  • Is smoking allowed? All IU Health facilities are smoke-free. For the safety of everyone, smoking is not allowed in any IU Health building or on the grounds.
  • What is the IU Health alcohol and drug policy? All IU Health facilities are alcohol and drug-free.
  • What is the IU Health firearm policy? It is the policy of IU Health that no one, other than IU Health Security Officers or on-duty Law Enforcement Officers, carry or have in their possession a firearm or weapon while in a IU Health facility. Law enforcement officers should check in with IU Health Security if they plan to carry on premises.

Atrio Café

The menu at Atrio features hot entrees, gourmet salads, sandwiches and soups prepared fresh every day.

Coffee Bar

Located near the main lobby, the coffee bar offers coffees, teas and pastries, as well as sandwiches and other lunch items in the afternoon.

Room Service

With IU Health Saxony Hospital’s room service, patients can choose daily what and when you want to eat. You may order meals from a menu that includes many delicious and healthy choices, all freshly prepared by IU Health chefs.

Similar to hotel room service, you choose from a menu and then call 317.688.2263. An operator places the order and confirms any diet restrictions. If your doctor changes your diet needs, the operator can check this information on the computer. Your meal is delivered directly to you, usually within 45 minutes of the order.

Family members and visitors may also order a guest meal tray for delivery

Internet Services, TVs, Blu-ray and DVD

IU Health Saxony Hospital is pleased to provide free Wi-Fi for you, your family and guests. The wireless network is available 24/7 in all areas of our hospital. Please note that IU Health cannot provide technical help for your device or connecting to the network.

All patient rooms have flat-screen TVs, Blu-ray DVD players and iPod/iPhone docking stations. A telecommunications device (TY/TDD) for the hearing impaired is also available.

Refrigerator

A small refrigerator is located in every patient room so family members may store food and beverages. These refrigerators are for guests only and not for patient use.

Outgoing mail may be dropped off at the Information Desk in the lobby.

Incoming Mail

Patients may receive mail while staying at IU Health Saxony Hospital. Anyone who sends mail to a patient should address the envelope as follows:

Deliveries

For the safety of our patients and staff, latex balloons are not allowed in the hospital, though Mylar balloons are permitted. In addition, poinsettias are not permitted at IU Health Saxony Hospital.

Some patients choose to keep their stay in the hospital private. If you have asked us to not tell anyone that you are here by registering as a “non-disclosure” or “no information” patient, our team cannot say that you are a patient at the hospital or accept any deliveries.
