Psychology Doctoral Internship

Year after year, it remains our pleasure to train doctoral students interested in health service psychology. IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital takes pride in the program’s ability to teach a breadth of health psychology topics, while accessing depth of training in specific areas of interest.

  • High emphasis on therapeutic intervention, consultation and preventative screening
  • Training in both outpatient and inpatient behavioral health
  • Involvement in individual, group, and psychoeducational treatment
  • Opportunity for specializations in many health psychology areas (i.e. weight management, women’s health, pain management, etc.)
  • Specialized rotations in Bariatric Psychology and Interdisciplinary Team Clinic
  • Working side by side with physicians in an established residency training center
  • Consulting with multi-disciplinary health care teams on a daily basis
  • Ample individual and group supervision
  • Daily clinic-wide luncheon didactics and weekly small-group behavioral health didactics
  • Experience in supervising practicum-level psychology students when available
  • Opportunity to complete a community outreach project in an area of interest
  • Ability lead formal didactic lectures to multiple disciplines
  • Long standing behavioral health journal club attended by multiple disciplines
  • Ability to conduct research or pursue completion of dissertation for interested interns
  • 24-room clinic with a live supervision camera system
  • Dedicated office space, with individual computers
