Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer Services at Indiana University Health West Hospital began in March, 2005, with 14 volunteers. In just a few short years, IU Health West Hospital has expanded the program greatly, and now has volunteers working in many different areas throughout the hospital, including:

  • Cancer Services
  • Chaplaincy
  • Imaging Services
  • Emergency Services
  • Employee Health
  • Guest Relations
  • Human Resources
  • Rehabilitation Center
  • Sleep Disorders Center
  • Surgery
  • Many more

IU Health West strives to create a unique, rewarding experience for our volunteers. We appreciate the time and energy they give to serve our patients and our organization, and we work hard to create a close bond and provide a sense of "partnership." It is this spirit of teamwork, dedication and friendship that can be found in each and every member of the IU Health West Hospital team - whether volunteer or salaried caregiver.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer at IU Health West Hospital, we would love to hear from you. Apply now.

All interested candidates must complete an application and interview with a volunteer coordinator, as well as complete a health screening and attend a unique orientation program tailored specifically to volunteers.

Every effort is made to identify your special interests and talents during the interview process, and a volunteer coordinator makes every effort to assign you to a department within the hospital in which you might find the most enjoyable, rewarding experience.
